How to update a Driver Terminal

PRO 8275/8375/8475
When a new map or software version are available for a PRO 8XXX the items are automatically assigned to the device and can be updated in two different ways, depending on the device location and the availability of a stable internet connection.
Select an update method to view the instructions:
Update via Wi-Fi
When connected to a stable internet connection via WiFi, it is possible to update a PRO 8275/8375/8475 conveniently and cable-free, without using a computer or microSD card.
Hint: Consider that downloading a map update takes much longer than downloading a software update and that it might be necessary to connect the device to a power source.
To update a PRO 8275/8375/8475 via WiFi, follow these steps:
1. Turn on the device by holding down the “Power” button for 3-5 seconds.
2. Make sure that the device is properly connected to internet via Wi-Fi.
3. Tap on “Home” in the bottom left corner of the screen
4. Tap on “Software update”
5. Tap on “Install update” to download and install the offered update(s).
Note: After the updates are installed, the device might automatically restart, depending on the update.
Update via microSD card
Updating a PRO 8275/8375/8475 via microSD card does not require an internet connection during the update process. However, it is necessary to download the update as a packaged zip-file via the Mobile Device Manager, store the file onto a computer and extract the content onto an empty and formatted microSD card (max. 128GB, formatted in exFAT)
To update a PRO 8275/8375/8475 using a microSD card, follow these steps:
1. Format a microSD card. The steps to format an SD card depend on the operating system of the computer that is used during the formatting process. Select an operating system from the list to view the instructions:
Note: Format the SD card before use, to avoid corrupted data to ensure sufficient storage capacity is available.
Microsoft Windows
If you are using a “Microsoft Windows” operating system, follow these steps:

- Go to “My Computer”
- Right-click on the SD card and select “Format”.
- Choose “exFAT” and optionally “Quick Format”.
- Start formatting.
Mac OS
If you are using “Mac OS”, follow these steps:

- Go to “Disk Utility”.
- Choose the SD card.
- Go to “Partition” tab and click “Options”.
- Choose “Master Boot Record”.
- Start formatting.
2. Log in to the Mobile Device Manager (MDM) using the regular WEBFLEET account credentials.
Note: If you receive an error while logging in, you do not have the required access rights for the MDM. In this case contact your WEBFLEET account administrator.
3. Select the required update package from the drop-down list.
4. Important: You can only update a device with the same map variant as pre-installed on the device. Otherwise the device will ignore the update. (I.e. Truck map for Truck device)
5. Click on “Download” to download the selected update package to the computer.
Note: Only one update package should be used per microSD card.
6. Extract the content of the downloaded zip-file onto the formatted microSD card using an SD card reader. The SD card is now prepared for (bulk) updates.
7. Insert the SD card into the PRO 8275/8375/8475
Important: Make sure that the PRO device is fully charged before continuing with the next steps or connect it to a power supply during the update process, if needed.
8.Turn on the PRO device. If the device is already turned on, continue with the following steps.
9. Tap on “Home” in the bottom left corner of the screen
10. Tap on “Software update”.
11. Tap on “install update” to install the offered update(s).
Important: Do not remove the SD card during the installation process.
12. When the update is completed the PRO device might reboot.
13. If no reboot is required, a notification message will be shown on the screen, confirming the success of the installation.
14. Safely remove the SD card from the device, once the installation is completed.
Depending on the updated items, the PRO 8275/8375/8475 is now updated with the latest available map or software version and is ready for use.
PRO 5350/7350
When a new map or a software version are available for a PRO 5350/7350 the items are automatically assigned to the device and can be updated in two different ways, depending on the device location and the availability of a stable internet connection.
Select an update method to view the instructions:
Update via Wi-Fi
When connected to a stable internet connection via Wi-Fi, it is possible to update a PRO 5350/7350 conveniently and cable-free, without using a computer microSD card.
Hint: Consider that downloading a map update takes much longer than downloading a software update and that it might be necessary to connect the device to a power source.
To update a PRO 5350/7350 via Wi-Fi, follow these steps:
- Turn on the device by holding down the “power” button for 3-5 seconds.
- Make sure that the device is properly connected to internet via Wi-Fi.
- Tap on “menu” in the bottom left corner of the screen.
- Tap on “settings”.
- Tap on “Software update”.
- Tap on “Install” to download and install the offered update(s).
Note: After the updates are installed, the device might automatically restart, depending on the update.
Update via microSD card
Updating a PRO 5350/7350 via microSD card does not require an internet connection during the update process. However, it is necessary to download the update as a packages zip-file via the Mobile Device Manager, store the file onto a computer and extract the content onto an empty and formatted microSD card (minimum capacity 8GB/max. 32GB)
To update a PRO 5350/7350 using a microSD card, follow these steps:
- Format a microSD card. The steps to format an SD card depend on the operating system of the computer that is used during the formatting process.
Note: Format the SD card before use, to avoid corrupted data and to ensure sufficient storage capacity is available.
Microsoft Windows
If you are using a “Microsoft Windows” operating system, follow these steps:
- Go to “My Computer”.
- Right-click on the SD card and select “Format”.
- Choose “FAT32” and optionally “Quick Format”.
- Start formatting.
Mac OS
If you are using “Mac OS”, follow these steps:
- Go to “Disk Utility”.
- Choose the SD card.
- Go to “Partition” tab and click “Options”.
- Choose “Master Boot Record”.
- Start formatting.
Note: Format the SD card before use, to avoid corrupted data and to ensure sufficient storage capacity is available.
2. Open the Mobile Device Manager *no login required.
Depending on the updated items, the PRO 5350/7350 is now updated with the latest available map or software version and is ready for use.
3. Select the required region/device range and download update package from the drop-down lists.
Important: You can only update a device with the same map variant as pre-installed on the device. Otherwise the device will ignore the update.
4. Click on “Download” to download the selected update package to the computer.

5. Extract the content of the downloaded zip-file onto the formatted microSD card using an SD card reader. The SD card is now prepared for (bulk) updates.

PRO 5150/71xx/91xx
Before you can update these models of PRO driver terminal, the support application “MyDrive Connect” must be installed on a computer and the driver terminal must be connected to the computer via USB.

Availability check and installation
When a PRO driver terminal is connected to a computer with MyDrive Connect installed, the support application will start automatically and inform you, if an update is available for download and installation.
To check for an update and to perform the installation, follow these steps:
1. Connect the driver terminal to a computer using the supplied mount and USB cable.
Important: You should plug the USB connector directly into a USB port on your computer and not into a USB hub or USB port on a keyboard or monitor.
2. Turn on the device
Note: As soon as the device is connected to the computer, MyDrive Connect will start up automatically and check for available updates. If the “Overview” page of MyDrive Connect does not display, continue with the following step, otherwise continue with step 5.
3. Click on the “MyDrive Connect” icon in the taskbar of the desktop to access MyDrive Connect.
Note: The icon with the blue arrow indicates that an update is available for the connected driver terminal.
4. Click on “MyDrive Connect” in the pop-up window to view the available items.
Note: If updates are available for download and installation, the “Overview” page of MyDrive Connect will show this information accordingly.
5. Click on “View updates” on the “Overview” page to display the available items.
6. If a software update is available, the item is automatically marked for download.
7. Click on “Update selected”.
8. MyDrive Connect downloads the selected item onto the computer.
9. MyDrive Connect starts the installation process on the connected device, as soon as the download is complete.
Important: Keep the PRO driver terminal connected to the computer during the installation process. To identify the installation status, check the installation progress that is displayed by MyDrive Connect and on the driver terminal.
Note: When the installation is complete, the driver terminal will restart and may be disconnected from the computer.
